Far South

The far south is a sparsely populated part of Namibia. Its main attraction is the Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon in the world. The breath-taking scenery can be marvelled at in all its grandeur from the lookout points along the rim, or fully experienced on a 4-5 day hike along its meandering rugged beauty. This region is also known for the Succulent Karoo Biome, a hotspot of biodiversity. Several thousand species of succulent plants and shrubs, many of them endemic, thrive in this semiarid environment.
